PROPERTIES OF SILK

Pure Silk is a magical fibre spun by the silk worm after a diet of mulberry leaves.
It is a protein fibre as is wool and human hair and should be treated similarly.
Being a natural fibre it often shows slight variations in weave and thickness of the fibre which may look like small flaws.
Pure Silk  helps to keep you cool in humid conditions as it is able to wick some moisture away from your skin, depending on the weight of the silk. On the other hand it helps greatly to keep you warm in very cold conditions and can upgrade the warmth of your sleeping bag. In addition to this it is easily washable and keeps the inside of your sleeping bag clean.

CARE OF SILK

The silk we use in our products is very fine  and can bruise if not treated carefully. Great care should be taken when washing and drying silk. Treat it like your hair. Do not use hot temperatures or commercial soap powders as these can cause the silk to  deteriorate as does sunlight. Use hair shampoo and dry on cool temperature in clothes dryer or inside or in the shade...Be very careful not to catch the silk in the zip of your sleeping bag. Keep your toenails short ! and avoid all sharp objects. Never use bleaching agents. Store Jagbag in a plastic bag.
